Babies are inherently adorable, but there’s something undeniably amusing about babies dressed up in adult attire. The genius behind this trending phenomenon is Instagrammer Ilana Wiles. She’s the mastermind behind a viral hashtag that’s inspiring moms to outfit their little ones in comically oversized outfits, a whimsical sight atop their tiny, bald heads.
Given that her own daughters had outgrown the baby stage and were now far too active for this project, Wiles kicked off the series with her 3-month-old nephew. Soon enough, she was making house calls to friends and acquaintances, transforming any baby she could find into a pint-sized executive. As the trend gained momentum, other Instagrammers enthusiastically joined in on the fun. Wiles even graciously provided a set of guidelines for conducting these photoshoots: essentially, lay out the outfit, nestle a precious little one inside the grown-up attire, and capture the shot from the torso upwards.
Within this entertaining collection of photos, some of these tiny subjects beam back at the camera, radiating joy. Others sport a perplexed expression, seemingly questioning this unexpected wardrobe choice. And then there are those who appear to share the same level of enthusiasm for donning a suit as many adults do on a Monday morning – not exactly thrilled. Nonetheless, these immobile tots seem to be reveling in the experience as they flaunt their business suits, collared shirts, and patterned ties, captivating the internet and igniting a viral sensation.
