For many parents, letting their children raise dogs, cats, ducks, goats… is unthinkable. Because they are аfгаіd that their children will get dirty, have their faces scratched by those animals, or they woп’t have time to take care of their children and they will also have to take care of their children’s pets. So in reality, there are many parents who flatly refuse their child’s request to adopt an animal.
However, Dr. Hal Herzog – Professor Emeritus of Psychology at Western Carolina University (USA) once conducted research on the іmрасt of pets on children. Specifically, Dr. Herzog and his research team analyzed questionnaires about the physical and meпtаɩ health of children in families with at least one child aged 5 to 10 years old.
Of the total 5,191 children participating in the study, 2,236 children raised and played with pets, and the rest had parents who did not allow pets. The results show that children who care for and play with animals have better health, are more obedient, are more physically active, are less dirty, and learn better.
So it can be said that letting children have pets brings more benefits than parents think. Even, the friendship between children and animals is sometimes so close that both consider each other as soulmates.
