The F/A-18E/F Super Hornet is a twin-engine, carrier-capable, multirole fighter aircraft designed and built by Boeing. It is a larger and more advanced version of the original F/A-18 Hornet, and is used by the United States Navy as well as several other countries. The Super Hornet has a length of 60.3 feet, a wingspan of 44.9 feet, and a height of 16 feet. It has a maximum takeoff weight of 66,000 pounds and can reach a top speed of Mach 1.8 (1,190 mph). Its range is over 1,275 nautical miles, and it can fly up to a maximum altitude of 50,000 feet. The F/A-18E/F Super Hornet has a unique feature called the “multi-mission reconfigurable cockpit,” which allows it to be easily configured for different mission requirements, such as air-to-air combat, air-to-ground strikes, and electronic warfare. The Super Hornet is armed with a variety of weapons, including air-to-air missiles, air-to-ground missiles and bombs, and a 20mm M61 Vulcan cannon. It also has advanced electronic warfare systems, including jamming and deception capabilities, as well as an infrared search and track system for detecting and tracking targets.
