The naming of this dinosaur is quite a mouthful, stemming primarily from its discovery location – the Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness Area in New Mexico – and also in honor of the Flores family from the German electronic band Tangerine Dream, a favorite of lead researcher Sebastian Dalman.
“Palaeontologists are ᴜпіqᴜe individuals, so you could probably say we have ᴜпіqᴜe musical tastes,” remarked Dr. Spencer Lucas, who co-authored an article about this recent discovery and serves as a curator at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science.
