This astonishing find was made by happenstance, as surveyors ѕtᴜmЬɩed upon it in the vicinity of the upper Wilson Creek area within the Pisgah National Forest. Despite being more than 77 million years old, this theropod’s fossilized remains exhibit an exceptional degree of preservation, with skin, bones, and even organs seemingly remaining intact. The NC Natural History Museum in Raleigh, which recently unveiled this remarkable discovery, went so far as to suggest that rather than calling it a mere ‘fossil,’ it could rightfully be termed a ‘dinosaur mᴜmmу.’
